Equilibrium Tri-Zone Brushing Boots – User Testing

Alongside testing with horse owners, the Tri-Zone Brushing Boots went to Easton College Equestrian Centre for usability trials on a range of different sizes and types of horses and ponies in regular work across various disciplines. Here’s some of the results:
100% of testers said they would recommend the boots to a friend.
Out of all the horses during the trial that worked up a sweat (under saddle or on neck etc) during exercise, 100% still had dry legs under the boots.

“We have tried these on such a big variety of horses and are really impressed with how they suit so many different types. We have a few that brush quite heavily and the boots have not budged. Not one single horse who has worn the boots has had sweaty legs after work which is very impressive.”

Weight Testing

This was based on a medium boot and weights were compared against the traditional neoprene type.
Results showed that our new Brushing Boot weighs just 84g VS the neoprene boot at 119g.

That’s almost 30% lighter than a traditional neoprene brushing boot!

Protection from Brushing

In the same laboratory that tests Hats, Body Protectors and the rest of our Tri-Zone Range, the Brushing Boots were tested to see how well they would wear against a brushing action. Sandpaper, which is likely to be more abrasive than just brushing against another boot, was used against the inside of the boot and how long the boot lasted was measured and compared.

Breathability Testing

Independent breathability testing has shown this is the most breathable boot in our Tri-Zone Range, where the boot allowed 87% of moisture to be released (100% is a bare leg without any boot cover), compared to the average of other boots tested was 48%.
The testing method was designed to measure the amount of moisture escaped from the boot. This was performed in a controlled laboratory environment to eliminate as many variables as possible that can be experienced when testing on a live horse.
